Game-Maker
As a kid, I spent countless hours using Game-Maker by Recreational Software Design. I found a series of interesting articles about Game-Maker and several of its more "well known" users. Most of them weren't much older than I was. That was kind of the great thing about Game-Maker. It was accessible to kids who didn't know the first thing about programming or writing code. One of my early games Dummy Duck 2 actually saw commercial distribution on a CD collection of 100 Action Arcade Games by Global Star. So without further ado, here's more information about Game-Maker than anyone asked for.

The Original Game-Maker tells about the program, and what made it so unique.

Matt Bell made Paper Airplane, one of the most widely distributed Game-Maker games.

Eclypse Games came up with a lot of new music, ideas and techniques for using Game-Maker.

One-Hit Wonders: Some interesting games like a Metroid clone.

Mark Hadley attempted 3-d effects and made an... odd game about congress.

Samples and Demos: These are the games that came with the software. Everyone had them, and learned how to use Game-Maker by tearing these games apart and putting them back together in their own way.

Mike Perrucci made Invasion of the Blobs, which had some pretty innovative level design, like a Ski Free type level, and some clever big boss fights.

Easy-lifting: Game Maker made it possible to take images from other games and insert them into your own game. Not that you should.

Anyway, there are more articles as well, and if you care, you can probably find them yourself. If you don't care, then why have you read this far?
